Chief Executive Officer

Debra has been a professional educator in general and special education for over twenty-five years. She teaches, coaches, and supports children through young adults, and their families, with autism spectrum and related needs. With experience and expertise in elementary through high schools, Debra also teaches and prepares others to work effectively with these special young people.
In recent years, Debra has completed Michelle Garcia Winner's Social Thinking Clinical Training Program Level 1 Assessment Mentorship Training Program in San Jose and has also completed ADOS Reliability Training at the University of Michigan with Catherine Lord's team.
Director of Admissions and Educational Placement
Born and raised in Rock Valley Iowa, Mary attended Rock Valley High School and continued on to obtain a degree in Elementary Education (K-8) from Augustana College. Her previous experience includes teaching 1st grade at Fairmont Public School, being a Title 1 teacher for Menomonie Public School District, and being the Director of Education for Sylvan Learning Center. Mary enjoys gardening, golfing, traveling, biking, reading, attending fitness classes, and having lunch with friends.
School Services Director & Lead Autism Specialist

Before joining the WMLC family, Nancy worked as a special education case manager for students with disabilities at a school in Maple Grove for ten years. Besides teaching academics and social skills, she made sure that her students got the appropriate supports in their mainstream classes. In her spare time Nancy enjoys spending time with her family, cooking, traveling or just kicking back with a good book.
Director of Operations
Janet is responsible for planning and coordinating the day-to-day business operations of WMLC and serves as administrative aid to the CEO. She brings more than 35 years of business knowledge and perspective into her role. Janet joined WMLC in 2002. She has served as a board member of Metro Friendship Foundation, has volunteered with TSA-MN and Rein in Sarcoma, and has been a foster mother to nineteen children. She is married to Mike and was the mother of Aaron (1988-2016). Janet enjoys reading novels amongst her flowers whenever she can.
Therapeutic Recreation Coordinator & Lotus Support Specialist

Taylor was born and raised in Warroad, MN. She fell in love with every aspect of working with individuals with autism immediately after getting her undergraduate degree. She likes anything outside, particularly biking, hiking, skiing, and sunshine! Favorite sports are tennis and volleyball, and Taylor is a country music fan.
Lotus Special Education Teacher

Debbie has lived in the metro area most of her life. She attended Normandale Community College and Minnesota State University, Mankato. She has worked for many years with students with autism as a paraprofessional, special education teacher, and after school tutor. She also has a special interest in STEM. Debbie enjoys spending time with family and friends, going to movies, out to dinner, and traveling.
Lotus Special Education Teacher

Cheri was born and raised in Rochester, Minnesota. She taught special education in grades 3-12 for 33 years and has worked with students with EBD, LD, ASD, OHD, TBI, and Hearing Impairments. Cheri was named Teacher of the Year by the Belle Plaine School District, and was awarded Teacher of Excellence at the 1993 Minnesota Teacher of the year annual banquet; top 17 teachers in the state. Cheri enjoys visiting state parks, presidential libraries, board games, card playing, reading nonfiction, fine dining, memorabilia/collectibles, and home decorating.
Tomasina joined WMLC in 2006 as Office Manager and has held the positions of Director of Office and Personnel Administration, Director of Marketing and Business Development, and Executive Director. She is thrilled to assist with keeping WMLC’s mission and values strong.
